Food
Not Bombs is a non-profit activist group that dedicates itself to
highlighting food waste, hunger and poverty/homelessness. We do so by
collecting food that would normally be discarded (despite being
perfectly edible) and turning it into vegan meals that are free to the
public to eat, regardless of background. In doing so, we highlight the
disparity between the overabundance of food produced in the world and
the fact many people such as poor or homeless folks still go hungry
despite the world literally producing more than enough food to fed the
entire world.
In doing so, we hope to not just provide our
community with a valuable service in feeding the public, but also hope
to bring about a conversation about how we can change our current system
to ensure that no one goes hungry in the face of such an overabundance
of food.
Food is a right, not a privilege!!
